This Botanicaz 45v1 begonia is a hybrid we got from botanicaz and propagated. It is a hybrid cross of B. sp Thailand 'White Spots' x B. sp 'Blue Tuber'/'Blue Tuberous'

The listing is for one plant, the exact one shown in photos. The iridescence on these begonias changes drastically depending on what light they are in. In normal lighting, they flush a deep maroon red or dark royal purple, and in a bright white lighting they flash a neon blue, shimmery lavender purple and even green!

Care

These begonias do thrive in higher humidity conditions such as a cabinet, terrarium or propagation box, but they are more tolerant than other more sensitive species and can be acclimated to house conditions. They like bright but indirect light; keeping them in lower light conditions helps to maximize the iridescent trait on their leaves! Use a well draining and gently fertilizing mix (hint hint, we have our fabulous house made mix available in the shop!) that is chunky but not so large of chunks that it prevents the fragile thin root system growing well. Like all begonias, these do not like to have wet feet - don't overwater! Water when the top 2 inches of soil feels dry. Always bottom water to prevent mold and fungus gnats.

How We Pack Our Plants

We package all plants very carefully, with polyfill around leaves and filling in empty space so substrate can’t move and taped some on top. If ordering insulation I insulate both the inside of the box and the plant and seal all seams shut where cold air could infiltrate.

Please make sure you are adding winter protection from the shop. Insulation and heat pack strongly recommended in winter.
