Shipping Policy
Effective Date: January 6, 2026
Bite and Bloom Botanicals LLC ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") is an online retailer specializing in live plants, tissue culture plants, and related botanicals, registered as an LLC in Oregon, with shipping available nationwide across the United States (subject to applicable federal and state restrictions, including U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations). This Shipping Policy ("Policy") outlines the terms and conditions governing the shipment of products purchased through our website [your website URL] (the "Site"). This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms and Conditions. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by this Policy.
We reserve the right to update this Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting the revised Policy on the Site, with an updated "Effective Date." Your continued purchases after changes constitute acceptance of the revised Policy.
1. Shipping Methods
To ensure the safe and timely arrival of live plants and perishable items, we exclusively ship via United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail (2-3 day delivery) or USPS Priority Mail Express (1-2 day delivery), depending on the option selected at checkout. Shipping rates are calculated based on weight, dimensions, and destination, and will be displayed during the checkout process.
We do not ship to P.O. boxes, international addresses, or certain restricted areas. You are responsible for ensuring that your shipping address complies with all applicable laws and regulations. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order that violates shipping restrictions.
2. Shipping Schedule
Orders containing live plants are shipped only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to minimize transit time and prevent packages from being held over weekends or holidays. We do not ship on or the day before federal holidays or other observed closures. Processing times may vary, but we aim to ship eligible orders within 1-3 business days of confirmation, subject to product availability and weather conditions.
Estimated delivery times are provided for informational purposes only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to carrier issues, weather, or other factors beyond our control. We are not liable for any such delays or their consequences.
3. Cold Weather Shipping Requirements
Live plants are sensitive to extreme temperatures. If temperatures along the shipping route or at your destination are forecasted to drop below 40°F at any point during transit, you must add a heat pack and Styrofoam insulation to your order at checkout. These items are available for purchase on our Site.
Failure to include winter protection voids our Live Arrival Guarantee, and we will not be responsible for any damage, loss, or death of plants due to cold exposure. Please refer to our Return and Refund Policy for detailed information on the Live Arrival Guarantee, dead-on-arrival (DOA) claims, and related exclusions.
4. Packaging Details
We take great care in packaging to protect your products during transit. All packaging methods have been rigorously tested to withstand typical shipping conditions.
-
Tissue Culture (In Vitro) Plants: We use high-quality gellan gum as the tissue culture medium, which offers superior heat resistance and firmness compared to traditional agar. This minimizes the risk of media melting, cracking, or displacement during shipping, ensuring the vitro cups arrive intact with minimal mess.
-
Non-Tissue Culture (Acclimated) Plants: To comply with federal and state laws prohibiting the shipment of soil across state lines and to prevent mess during transit, all non-tissue culture plants are shipped bare root. Roots are carefully wrapped in damp paper towels or sphagnum moss for moisture retention. Depending on the plant's size and shape, it will be secured in a deli cup with a lid or a pot with a protective dome to safeguard leaves and stems.
5. Safe Shipping Assurance
Our packaging is designed to provide maximum protection for live and perishable goods. However, live plants are inherently delicate, and some minor stress (e.g., wilting or leaf damage) may occur during transit due to environmental factors. We disclaim any liability for such normal occurrences. For claims related to damage or DOA, please refer to our Return and Refund Policy, which requires timely notification and proof.
6. Tracking and Delivery
A tracking number will be provided via email once your order ships. You are responsible for monitoring the shipment and ensuring someone is available to receive it promptly upon delivery to prevent prolonged exposure to outdoor conditions.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, or delay caused by carriers, weather, customs, or other events beyond our reasonable control. Our liability for any shipping-related issues is limited to the remedies outlined in our Return and Refund Policy.
8. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from this Policy shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions in our Terms and Conditions.
